Paige is still waiting to hear back about her applications. They were taking a long time -- it was nearly a week now and she hasn't heard anything. This means they obviously didn't like her. That's okay. Waitressing wasn't her thing anyways. So while some people have already started their jobs, Paige takes to exploring some of the wings that were closed off until they were inspected and fixed and opened up again.

She goes through some old students' stuff -- stuff the left behind, forgotten, or put away with the intention of them coming back. This is when she stumbles across something familiar to her -- there's a notebook, kinda beaten up, spiral bound, with stickers on the front of girly things. Curious, she opens it up and finds pictures.

She moves to sit on the old mattress carefully, thumbing through the pictures. They were of her family. But from this dimension. They were left behind by this world's Paige Guthrie.

Everything else she had put back, everything else she left in its place. This discovery, however, she took back with her to her room. She walked back to her room, hugging the notebook to her chest, hoping people wouldn't stumble across her and ask her what she was doing.

12:11 am - one.
Today Hank took me around the city to find a job. I never worked before, besides for the group I was with, but that was more on the volunteering side. Things are different here. More green. Not so much concrete. Hank told me there's a lot more concrete and steel in NYC. That's almost a hour drive, he said, from here.

I have applications to a couple of places. Mostly waitressing jobs. I don't think I will like it.

This place is a lot nicer than where I used to live before. With Jubes and Sam and Bert. That was a small apartment. Not in the nice part of town.

Fixx is my roommate again. Jono and Angelo live next door. Lorna and Blink live down the hall. I don't feel so much like the only stranger anymore. It's kind of nice.

current mood: curious
